Two iconic Aussie food labels have joined forces to release a new limited edition chicken and gravy pie ahead of the footy final season.
Widespread chicken shop Red Rooster and popular servo pastry brand Four‘N Twenty have created a new menu item – an on-the-go lunch solution for footy fans as they head to watch their favourite team play. Red Rooster’s director of marketing, Ashley Hughes, said Four’N Twenty is famous for its pies, and Red Rooster for its chicken, resulting in the ‘perfect partnership’.
“We are excited to expose Reds and our roast chicken and gravy flavours to a new and wider audience and embed the brand further in Aussie pop culture by collaborating with another highly recognisable iconic Australian food brand,” Hughes said.
Also commenting on the collaboration, the CMO of Patties Food Group, Anand Surujpal, said: “It is always exciting when two Aussie icons come together to bring customers a brand-new product… we are excited to see this become a fan-favourite.”
The launch is supported by a creative campaign via Leo Burnett Australia, including 15’ TVC, online, social, digital, radio, and OOH.
Leo Burnett’s creative director, Marijke Spain, said: “We were excited to see a brief about the coming together of two iconic Australian brands. In the spirit of our Reds platform, which celebrates the crazy things people do to satisfy their chicken cravings, we brought this partnership to life in an iconic Aussie scenario – a pie at the footy.”
The new Red Rooster x Four ‘N Twenty Chicken & Gravy pie is available for a limited time only from May 15, on menus at Reds restaurants nationally, via Drive Thru, Dine In, Take Away, Click & Collect and Delivery.
The fast food chain has also launched a range of merchandise, available through its website.
